TEDxKelowna- “What We Learned From 350 Million Kids”

Hello penguins, long time no post! My life’s been really busy these days and I obviously haven’t had time to blog, nor have I signed up for CPI. I’m doubting I ever will to be honest, it’s just not my interest anymore. And yes, I’ve heard about Rewritten, but I really don’t see the need to sign up.

Regardless, I came across a really interesting video on my WordPress dashboard from a post on Club Penguin Mountains. It’s a TED Talk about Club Penguin featuring Lane Merrifield, better known as Billybob. He talks about CP’s humble beginnings to the response from the fans- the love that formed what we knew as the Club Penguin community. It was really touching and nostalgic for me and I was surprised to find that it doesn’t have more views!

The part that stuck with me most was what Billybob said at the end about Club Penguin shutting down.

“…what I what I realized was that they weren’t upset about missing the mini-games, they’re not sad about[…] losing the ninjas…or the activities that were going on in Club Penguin. What they were most afraid of- what we’re all afraid of- was losing the incredible sense of community that had grown within the Club Penguin world… and I’m so, so thankful to have had an opportunity to be a part of that community. I’m so thankful to have had a front row seat to so many amazing kids lives. And most of all I’m incredibly privileged and honored… I mean to see their creativity is amazing. I’m incredibly privileged and honored to have been able to serve side-by-side with such an amazing team that took their imagination and their creativity and brought it to life every single week. And so I just want to say… you know, I firmly believe that our world would be a much better place if all of us were just a little bit more childlike. If we could learn from these kids, and maybe be a little bit more fearless with our creativity, if we could help each other out a little bit more, if we could be generous with one another, if we could work together a little bit better. If we can become better at sharing when things are frustrating to us, or are hurtful or harmful to us… you know sometimes[…] we maybe just need to take a breath and not take life as seriously, not take ourselves as seriously. But most of all, maybe for today, we can all start by taking just a little bit more time to listen.”
I’m not crying, someone’s chopping onions. Just watching this video made me feel honored that I was one of those kids once and that I was part of that awesome community. Maybe I was even one of the blogs they looked at! But thank you, Billybob, for those kind and inspiring words- no one could have said it better than you.
Waddle on, Greeny.

Finding Dory Party Coming in July!

Hey penguins! Sorry I haven’t been blogging, there isn’t much to cover about CP when you don’t have a membership :/

Anyways, here’s a post from Megg from the official blog:

Great news, penguins!

The next Club Penguin party is going to be–

Um, I can’t remember.

Sorry, this has never happened before. I’m sure it’s a cool party whatever it is.

Oh wait!

it’s something about a clam! No, no. An oyster! A mollusk? Something…?

OH YEAH! It’s the Finding Dory party! Dory, and a few of her friends will be visiting the island July 6 – August 17. (Note to self: learn to speak whale)

I’d love to hear in the comments what you think about–

Um…

A little help here?

-Club Penguin Team

I’m so happy to see this coming to Club Penguin! It’s rather fitting for a game with the ocean and I’d love to see CP’s take on this!

Here’s a cute clip someone made years ago:

Polo Field Keytar Giveaway

Heya penguins!
If you didn’t know, Polo Field and his friend (not sure if he was a CP mod) have started a YouTube channel called Tiger/Wolf Cast. While neither are producing Club Penguin related content anymore, they do have much more gaming content.

Anyways, Polo Field is giving away his real trademark keytar.

In order to enter, you must be over 13 years old, a Club Penguin player, and subscribed to Tiger/Wolf Cast. With your parent’s permission, write a comment about your favorite memory of CP. The winner will be chosen in 2016.

Remember not to give your address out online! Always ask an adult first and don’t give it out to anyone you meet online.

VIDEO: Puffle Wild Gameplay

As you all might know, Club Penguin is releasing another app for Apple devices called Puffle Wild. From the video below, it’s a match-three game like Candy Crush, but you can get puffles for your penguin!

Right now the app is only available in Australia and New Zealand for beta testing, however you can download it if you really want to if you just search it up online. I would not recommend doing this because you have to create another Apple ID (I think) and it’s just a pain to do. Plus, it’s considered cheating.

Anyways, the puffles on the app right now are for members only, sadly. The puffles you can currently earn are deer, rabbit, racoon and unicorn puffles. I’ve seen a few members waddling around with rabbit puffles so far, not much else.

When the game comes to the USA, I’ll post more about it.

Megg’s School and Skate Party Sneak Peek!

Megg uploaded this awesome video to YouTube about her adventures at the School and Skate party!

A few notes:

  • The mall is totally awesome. I don’t know about you, but the mall I go to is lots of fun! Glad they could capture that in CP 😉
  • SHE HINTED AT A CLUB PENGUIN MOVIE ZOMGGGGGG
  • Always read books. Especially when you have to read one for school and you have to finish half of it in two days… haha not like I have to do that instead of blogging

What do you think? Club Penguin movie yay or nay?
